The Book Fair returns to Buenos Aires: dates, novelties and reasons not to miss it

From April 24 to May 12, Buenos Aires will once again become the cultural capital of the Hispanic world: the 49th edition of the International Book Fair will be held at La Rural (Palermo ). As always, the event will be held at La Rural (Palermo), with thousands of activities, presentations and opportunities to get lost among books.

Organized by Fundación El Libro, the fair will bring together major and independent publishers, established authors and new voices, as well as bookstores from all over the country. This year, the guest of honor will be Madrid, which will bring a rich cultural agenda with writers, artists and proposals that cross the Atlantic.

Claudia Piñeiro, Mariana Enríquez, Javier Cercas, Andrés Neuman and Uruguayan poet Circe Maia are among the prominent figures who have already confirmed their presence. There will also be panels on feminist literature, graphic novels, science and technology, as well as spaces especially designed for young readers and children.

As always, the fair will offer a gastronomic sector, outdoor activities, and a busy evening agenda with the now classic Night of the Fair – an extended day with free admission that usually attracts thousands of visitors.

Some advice? Go with time, hydration and an empty backpack: it’s hard to leave without at least a couple of new books.
